Ada Pearl Morrison Rickard, 91, of New Haven, died Tuesday, February 27, 1996, at her residence.
Born Feb 8, 1905, at "Forks of the Road", Cottageville, Jackson County, WV. She was a daughter of the late William E Morrison and Sara E (Nalley) Morrison.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Adam P Rickard, three sons, James, Roland and Ralph Rickard, and three brothers.
She was a cook on a riverboat with the Semet-Solvay (Division of Allied Chemical), in Ashland, KY from 1948-1966 and was a member of the Peniel United Methodist Church (and enjoyed quilting with the other ladies).
Surviving are three sons, Paul A Rickard, Ronald H and Betty C Rickard, Donald C and Naomi Rickard; daughter Mary R and Gerald L Beers; 18 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday, 1 p.m., at the Foglesong Funeral Home with Nancy Mayes and Rev Michael Lambert officiating. Burial will be in the Graham Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday, 7 to 9 p.m.

Ada and Adam (Ad) Rickard were married by Rev. Ira Rickett in Point Pleasant, WV on 25 Jan 1933. Verdie (her sister) and Herman Lieving were their witnesses and they traveled to Point Pleasant, WV in a surrey, it was a cold day and the ground was frozen and the road being frozen - it was a very bumpy ride.
