Hazel G. Aischliman, 99, Decatur, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday in Woodcrest Nursing Care Facility. She was born on January 27, 1895 in Preble to Jeff and Aldine Zaugg Klopenstine and married Albert "Chic" Aeschliman on June 24, 1914. He is deceased.
She was the former owner of the Colonial Cafe and a former employee of the Decatur Creamery, and retired in 1966 from Decatur's Bag Service plant. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Decatur and a former member of Women of the Moose.
Surviving are a son, Robert J. "Chic" Aeschliman, Decatur; four grandchildren, Richard Aeschliman and Mrs. Steven (Sandra) Larrabee, both of Decatur; Mrs. Kenneth (Linda) Litmer, Monroe and Jeanie Carlin, New York City; 16 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. A son, Donald E. Aeschliman, Sr., and a grandson, Donald E. Aeschliman, Jr., are deceased.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Haggard and Armes Funeral Home, Decatur, with burial in MRE Cemetery, Berne. Visiting hours are from 6-9 p.m. today and 1-3 p.m. Tuesday. Preferred memorials are to the church.
