COTTON VALLEY, LA - Funeral services for Mrs. Tempie Morgan "Mama" Henson, age 95, will be held Sunday, June 15, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the Kings Corner Assembly of God Church with Rev. B. J. Rutledge, Rev. Andy Harris and Rev. David Logan officiating. Burial will follow in the Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill, LA.
Visitation will begin 11 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2003 at Bailey Mortuary.
Mama Henson was born June 10, 1908 in Albertville, Alabama to Luther and Bertie Benson Morgan and died June 12, 2003 in Cotton Valley, LA. She was a resident of this area for 77 years, member of Kings Corner Assembly of God Church, homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by four daughters, Eddie Mae Jester of Springhill, LA, Jean Rutledge of San Angelo, TX, Sue Smith and husband, Reed of Atlanta, TX, Evelyn Simmons and husband, Bobby Joe of Cotton Valley, LA; two sons, Harry Henson and wife, Derinda of Cotton Valley, LA, Ben Henson and wife, Mona of Reston, VA; four sisters, Cecile Driggers of Shreveport, Ruth Shepard of Plain Dealing, Ruby Craig of Minden and Vernell Staggs of Sarepta; three brothers, Fred Morgan and Harold Morgan, both of Taylor, Ark., and Horace Morgan of Sarepta; twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great-grandchildren.
Mama Henson was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Henson; son, Wayne Henson; grandson, Danny Reed Smith; son-in-laws, Herschel Rutledge and R. L. Jester.
Pallbearers will be Bob Simmons, Terry Henson, Terry Jones, Garland Henson, Reed Smith and Charles Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Ted Hollaway and grandchildren.
