Floyd was born Feb 28, 1900 in Stockholm. He was the son of Dougal and Jennie Grant. He married Agnes Mathews in 1922 in Ogdensburg. They had four daughters Myrtle who died as an infant, Coretha, Patricia, and Aletha (Pudgie). He worked as a carpenter and a farmer.
He loved his family and he kept in touch with his brothers and sister, his nieces and nephews as well as his daughters and grandchildren.
