PEORIA - Doris L. Dixon, 76, of Proctor Home died at 8:43 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 14, 1999, at Methodist Medical Center.

She was born June 25, 1923, in Monmouth to Frank and Esther Moore Dixon.

Surviving is one niece.

She was preceded in death by one sister.

She worked in marketing for the Ruben H. Donnelly Corp. for 30 years, retiring in 1985. She was a former joint-owner of the Peoria Speedway and Mount Hawley Speedway.

She was a former officer of the American Business Women's Association and a former A.B.W.A. Woman of the Year. She was a member of the Winnebago-Itasca Travelers Club and was a former volunteer for the Heart Fund, American Red Cross, and the Crippled Children's Foundation. She taught swimming and skating at Lakeview Center.

She attended the Living Rock Church in Peoria Heights.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wilton Mortuary. The Rev. Stan Svetich will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
