!Obituary was received from Irene Umphress of Des Moines Iowa in 1990. It was
from the scrap book of Ethel Umphress, page 26 Experience Jane Scott, was the oldest daughter of Peter and Sarah Scott, and was born in Logan county, Ohio and departed this life Jan 26, 1928, aged 83 years, 8 months and 25 days.
She was united in marriage to James Bay, Oct. 24, 1868. To this union four
children were born, Sarah Arlene and Anna Evanell who died in infancy, Mrs.
Emma Akes of Decatur and Johathan, of Garden Grove, Iowa, three brothers, S. J.
Scott, J. P. Scott and S. L. Scott and one sister, Mrs. George Rosengrant, all
of near Garden Grove. She united with the Christian church when young in life.
She was a kind and loving wife and mother. Funeral services were held at the
Stewart Funeral Parlors in leon, conducted by A. L. Sears, and she was laid to
rest in the Johnson cemetery, seven miles northeast of Leon.
