He married Nancy Caroline Roberson on 18 Apr 1851 in Pontotoc Co., Mississippi. They were the parents of four children; Mary A. C., Sarah E., Hettie J., and Selenes M. Wallace, Jr.
The 27th Alabama Infantry Regiment was organized at Fort Heiman, Tennessee, on 28 January 1862. Selenes was a member of company C. He died of Typhoid Fever.
