NECROLOGY.
Miss Louise Tucker Stubbs.
(Special to the Picayune.)
Monroe, La., Dec. 28. - Miss Louise Tucker, fourth daughter of Hon. Frank P. Stubbs, died in this city this morning at half-past 12 o'clock. As she had been seriously ill only since Saturday morning, very few of her many friends knew of her condition and her death was very unexpected and a great shock to the community. Miss Louise was in her 20th year, and a great favorite in social circles. It was only last week that she entertained the Young People's Euchre club. She has been absent the past few years attending school in Virginia, but her health becoming impaired, she was compelled to abandon her studies, and spent several months in Washington city with an aunt. She had returned home about a month ago and since then has participated in most of the social functions of this city. She shared the usual Christmas festivities of the family, of which she was a beloved member, and was in her usual health until Saturday morning, when the cold, which she had contracted, developed into bronchial pneumonia and terminated her brief but beautiful life in a few short hours. Miss Louise was sponsor for the Ouachita Guards at the time of her death. The remains will be interred in the family lot at the Monroe cemetery to-morrow morning at 10 o'clock.
