Anna Wilhelmine "Minnie" Lade was born October 28, 1892, in Canby, Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Emelie (Wolff) Lade. She was reared there and on the family homestead north of Minot in Eureka Township, Ward County, where the family moved in 1902. She was employed by various families in the Minot area as a housekeeper when she was a young woman and lived with her brothers on a farm north of Minot. She moved to Minot in 1950.
