Lottie was deaf and mute, as were two of her children. She also lost three of her children at a young age. These hardships never stopped her from living her life with kindness and happiness. As a kid, I remember visiting Lottie and Charles.
My memories are of a happy household where Lottie was always smiling, always friendly. A very nice lady with lots of love in her heart. When I close my eyes, I can still see her sweet smile.

"Services set for Lottie Clevenger
Mrs. Lottie Clevenger, 79, Indianapolis, died Thursday at Community Hospital in Indianapolis.
A resident of the Turtle Creek Convalescent Center, she was born on April 25, 1898, in Rushville. She spent most of her life in northern Johnson county and southern Marion county.
Her husband, Charles Clevenger, preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Iva Neubert, Bradenton, Fla.; sons, Charles Robert Clevenger, Heber Springs, Ark., and Henry Clevenger, Bronson, Mich.; 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Wilson-St. Pierre Greenwood Chapel. Friends may call at any time. Burial will be the Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis."
