Daniel B.Puryear, 96 years old, died at 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 20, 1965 in the Gravette Medical Center, Gravette, AR where he had been a patient for three days.

He was born to William Robert and Fannie B. Houchins Puryear on February 5, 1869 in Shelbyville, Shelby Co., IL

and moved to Benton Co., AR, with his family, as a young child.

He married Dasy Dean Roughton on July 10, 1894 in Springtown, Benton Co., AR.

"Uncle Dan" as he was known had lived in Noel, McDonald Co., MO for the last 50 years. He was a familiar figure

on the streets of Noel and was endeared by all who knew him.

He was survived by two sons, William B. Puryear of Noel, MO and Ernest E. Puryear of Modesto, CA, five daughters; Marie Logan, Hood River, OR, Edna Logan and Urkle Walker both of Noel, MO, Mat Davis, Carnegie, PA and Mary Loveless of Sulphur Springs, AR: two brothers, Ed Puryear, Bentonville, AR and Frank Puryear, Hiwassee, AR; a sister Nova Galyean of Sunnyvale, CA, 21 grandchildren and 24 greatgrandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, September 22, 1965 in Pyeatte

Funeral Chapel, Gravette, AR and burial was in Daniel Cemetery, Hiwasse, Benton Co., AR.
