On January 5, 1923, Ada married Carl Jay in Adkins, Iowa. Ada and Carl had one son, Carl Vernon Jay. After Carl's death Ada never remarried.
A Lynnville resident most of her life. Ada was a homemaker and belonged to the Lynnville Friends Church, where she was Superintendent of the Sunday School Primary Department. Ada was a charter member of the Goodwill Club.
Ada was an avid gardener, a piano teacher, and played piano for the silent movies at the Lynnville Opera House.
Ada M. Jay passed away Monday, March 8, 1999 at Friendship Manor in Grinnell at the age of 100.
She is buried at Woodland Cemetery in Lynnville with her husband Carl, who passed away September 28, 1958.
