On Monday, July 22, Mrs Chas Baumgardner, of near Johnson's Cross Roads, was killed by the limb of a tree falling on her. Her husband was cutting down a bee tree and several members of the family were standing near when a limb fell and struck Mrs Baumgardner, causing her death. Besides her husband she is survived by eight children.
