Arthur J. Rose dies Saturday; services Tuesday
COLFAX - Arthur James Rose, 85, a longtime resident of Colfax, died Saturday morning at the Skiff memorial Hospital in Newton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax.

The Rev. John McKinstry, pastor of the Colfax Christian Church, will conduct services.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Colfax American Legion at the Colfax Cemetery.

Survivors are his wife, Cordia; a daughter, Mrs Francis Pratt of Colfax; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a step-son.

Mr Rose, a Army veteran of World War I, was a member of the Colfax Christian Church, American Legion, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Knights of Pythias and the local Grange.

Mr Rose, a farmer, was the son of George and Minnie Ward Rose, and was born Oct. 10 1885 in Kelley.

He married to Cordia Pigg Sept. 2 1926.
