Roy Ollis, 81, of 1823 Providence Road, Elizabeth City, NC died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in Pitt Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ollis was born in Spruce Pines, NC, the son of the late Earl Ollis and Pearl Ingram Ollis, and was the husband of Pattie Jones Ollis of the residence. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served as head usher; a long-standing member of the Lion's Club and the C.P.O.A. and he also served on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army.

Besides his wife, Mr. Ollis is survived by two daughters, Donna Ollis and Elizabeth Langley of Elizabeth City, NC; a son, Eric Roberts of Hertford, NC; three sisters, Elizabeth Crowder, Helen Wilson, and Joyce English; a brother, Billy Ollis; and three grandchildren, Hannah Roberts, Ashlynn Langley, and Timothy Langley, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Lucille Duncan and Zora Burleson and two brothers, Ernest Ollis and Howard Ollis.

Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park with military honors.
