Mr. Myers, born in Berkeley County, WV; was the son of the late William and Mabel Butts Myers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, James Edward, and Carl W. Myers; three sisters, Jessie Cole, Lillie I. Myers, and Lena M. Bageant. Mr. Myers was a member of Mountainside Tabernacle Church.
He is survived by one brother, Robert H. Myers; three sisters, Pearl L. Hess, Daisy B. Faircloth, and Patsy Elizabeth Myers all of Martinsburg, WV; a number of nieces, nephews and good friend Kathleen Casaly.
The family received friends 6-8pm, Monday, May 5, 2014 at the Brown Funeral Home of Martinsburg.
The funeral services were held at 2pm, Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Ron Morris and Pastor Edward Myers officiating.
Burial was made in Mountainside Tabernacle Church Cemetery at 6947 Apple Harvest Drive, Gerrardstown, WV 25420.
Memorials may be made in Lester's name to the church.
Lester never married and had no children. He was nicknamed Bussie.
Lester was blind from birth. This never slowed him down as a young man he chopped wood, carried water from the spring and did other various chores around the home place.
Lester was a brother, Uncle and a friend that you could count on. He was a good listener and someone always willing to give friendly and good advice.
He was a kind man, who always kept a positive outlook on life, although he was not as fortunate as most. He was fun to be around and comfortable to talk to. He will be missed by all. Lester is buried next to his brother James Myers who is buried next to their sister Lillie Irene Myers all three were blind from birth.
