Rebecca Lee Maddox, 61, of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010, at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas.

Rebecca was born on October 19, 1948, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Doris Dixon Ames and Anthony Ames. She was the second child in a family of six girls. Becky lived in the Port Arthur area all of her life and raised her daughter Tracy here. Rebecca was very active in her community, and loved by many. She enjoyed playing Bingo and loved going to the casino in Lake Charles. She was dedicated to her family, and her grandchildren were the light of her life.

Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Orta and husband Joshua of Port Neches; sisters, Jacqueline Doyle of Beaumont, Janice Breaux of Port Arthur, Paula Quebedeaux of Bridge City, Cassie Huggins of Austin and Mary Methvin of Dallas; grandchildren, Dillon Rose, Chance Orta and Christopher Orta.

A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A Chapel Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2010, with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland.
