Dorothy Ann Austin passed away February 1, 2021 in Huntsville, Texas. She was born September 16, 1932 in Elm Mott, Texas to Wilbourne and Ruby Ophelia (Davis) Cantrell.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandson Cody Jon Maddox; siblings Paul Cantrell, Patricia Cantrell, and Sissy Williams.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of over 48 years, Warren Austin; children Cindy Brown and husband J.D., Gary Blevins and wife Terri, Larry Blevins, Jeff Blevins, Michael Austin and wife Cindi, Suzanne Austin, Tom Austin and wife Donna, and David Austin; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister Jackie Michaels. Numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
Ann graduated from Abilene High School. She later became the first female firefighter for the Needham Road Volunteer Department, volunteering 7 years of service. She was an active member of Riverside Methodist Church where her husband Pastored. She served as secretary at the church and taught children's Sunday School. In her leisure time she enjoyed crafting, sewing, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her.
