Mr. Meadows died on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, at Baptist Hospital in Miami.
He was born on July 23, 1933, in Putnam County to the late Russell F. Meadows and Juda V. Rodgers Meadows. Mr. Meadows was a hospital administrator, having served at River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach, Fla., leading the effort to build a new hospital, American Hospital of Miami, in the 1970s.
His family includes his wife, Patricia Smith Meadows of Miami; a son, Michael Meadows of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Laura Meadows of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a stepdaughter and stepsoninlaw, Ana and Eric Alvarado of Miami; a sister, Gloria Judd of Durham, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Jewell Sell, Austin and Nicholas Alvarado of Miami, and Caitlin Meadows of Sebastian, Fla.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Meadows was preceded in death by a son, Randy Meadows, and a stepdaughter, Nicole Fresneda.
