David Braxton "D.B." Cooper, 63, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010, peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends. Funeral: 1 p.m. Thursday at Moore Funeral Home-Bowen Chapel. Interment: Moore Memorial Gardens. D.B. was born July 15, 1946, in Kermit and grew up in several West Texas towns. He went to high school at Midland Lee High School in Midland and later attended Abilene Christian College. Upon moving to the Fort Worth area in 1966, D.B. worked in several occupations, including at General Dynamics and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. D.B. was a man of many talents and interests, but was truly a salesman at heart. He successfully parlayed his talents into a 35-plus-year career with Combined Insurance Company of America. As a district manger, the attention he gave to knowing people and his willingness to help others master this skill meant that his reach of influence spanned more than three decades and served nationwide in the organization that he loved so much. D.B. was very active in the Church of Christ and attended Richland Hills Church of Christ and most recently Pleasant Ridge Church of Christ. A one-time deacon, his love for the church was prevalent in all aspects in his life. Survivors: Wife, Marilyn Sheppard Cooper; son, Paul David Cooper; daughter, Courtney Elizabeth Cooper; parents, Paul and Neva Cooper; stepdaughter, Michelle Tewold and husband, Mike; stepdaughter, Stephanie Ray and husband, Eric; and four grandsons.
