She was born and reared in the Clear Spring section and was the daughter of Joseph and Sallie Ann Miller. On May 3, 1878, she was married to Junious P. Stapp of Montpelier who died December 3, 1930.
Mrs. Stapp was a member of Providence Baptist church, of which she remained a loyal and devoted member. Her friendliness and kindness endeared her to a wide circle of friends and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by 12 children: Mrs. L.W. Calhoun, Leslie, James, and Margie Stapp of Russell Springs, Mrs. H.G. Holliday and Mrs. Amby Royse of Columbia, Joe Stapp of Spencer, Indiana; John Stapp of Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. Orville Umphenour, Mrs. Pearl Powell, Julian and Otis Stapp of Chenoa, Ill., and a number of grandchildren.
Besides her children and grandchildren, she leaves two sisters: Mrs. Fannie Holliday and Mrs. Nannie Bet Miller of Seattle, Washington, and one brother, James Garnett Miller of Elsie, Nebraska.
Funeral services were held at the church at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. Walter Hubbard. Interment was in the church cemetery. The six sons acted as pallbearers.
