Adeline was born in Louisiana. In 1870, she was married to Andrew Johnson, a surveyor from Pennsylvania. They were living in Amite, Louisiana (Tangipahoa County)where Adeline owned real estate valued at $10,000, and had personal property worth $1000. Her husband had no assets. They had four children and two servants. Their children were Sallie P., James J., John G. R., and Mary F. A. By 1880, the family had moved to Dallas, Texas where Andrew was practicing medicine. Their daughter Mary apparently had died as she was not with them. By 1900, Adeline and Andrew had moved to Lexington, Oklahoma (Cleveland County) where Andrew was a practicing physician. Their daughter Sallie had married Thompson Conley in 1883 and they also were living in Lexington with seven of Adeline and Andrew's grandchildren. After Adeline died in 1903, Andrew went to live with their daughter Sallie and her family.
