James A. Armstrong Jr.

James A. Armstrong Jr., 66, of Englewood, passed away Thursday, June 15th, 2010 at his residence.

A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late James A. Armstrong Sr. and Viola Raper Armstrong

He was a member of Mars Hill Methodist Church. He retired form CSX Railroad in 2004 and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He is preceded in death by his parents listed above and a stepmother, Beulah Sanderson Armstrong.

Survivors include wife, Elisa Henderlight Armstrong of Englewood, TN; three daughters, Kellie, Jamie and Jessie; two sons, Jeff and Tony; one son-in-law, Johnathan Riggs and five grandchildren, Jace Courtney, Jacob, Mikayla and Cameron.

Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2010 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Tallent officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Mars Hill Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 for the committal service with military honors.
