Mrs. Catherine B. Nolkemper, widow of the late Herman Frederick Nolkemper, died Monday night at her home here after an illness of only a week. Pneumonia was the cause of her death. She was 81 years of age.
Mrs. Nolkemper was born in Germany on August 28, 1845, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Adams Wolf. When only about two years of age she came to America. When a young woman she married Herman Frederick Nolkemper, who died in August 1914, about four years after they moved to Greenlawn.
She is survived by four children, eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. The children are Mrs. Doreta M. Dey, of Flushing, Mrs. Catherine Loeffler, Mrs. Emma Fleischhauer and Frederick H. Nolkemper all of Greenlawn.
Mrs. Nolkemper was a charter member of L. I. Rebekah Lodge, No 80, I. O. O. F., and a member of the German Ladies' Beneficial Society No. 1, of Long Island City.
Funeral services were held at her home Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock and at the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Flushing, where the Interment took place at 3:30. The Rev. E. J. Drehme pastor of the Greenlawn Presbyterian Church, officiated.
