Services were 11 a.m. Monday at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Donald Doster officiating. Burial was in New Hope Church Cemetery.
Tony Pruitt, David Ring, Jeff Jones, Mike Donoho, J. W. Benham and Eugene Davis served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer was Evan Donoho.
Maxey was born in Weakley County, son of the late William Carlos and Lula Morris Maxey. He was the widower of Ardeill Legens Maxey. He was a retired farmer and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War and was a POW. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Dean and Loretta Maxey of Palmersville and Ray Lynn and Rose Maxey of Springville; a sister, Mable Williams of Latham; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
