Father, 89 and Daughter, 68 Died Within Days



Death of a father and daughter within twenty-four hours left two breaks today in a fifth generation family. Mrs. Emeline Lybolt of Scotchtown died last night at Horton Memorial Hospital just a day after the death of her father, DeWitt Martin, at her home in Scotchtown.

Mrs. Lybolt was sixty-eight, and her father eighty-nine, surviving Mr. Martin and are grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Mrs. Lybolt was born Emeline Martin, daughter of DeWittt and Matilda Newkirk Martin at Summitville. She was married to Eugene Lybolt March fourth, 1889.

Mrs. Lybolt was a member of the Scotchtown Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband, and two sons, Fred Lybolt of Bullville and Edward Lybolt of Middletown. She is also survived by three brothers, Fred Martin of Bath, N.Y., DeWitt Martin of Pine Bush, and Cornelius Martin of Goshen, nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lybolt will be held at the Hasbrouck Chapel Monday at two p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Johnston officiating. Friends may call at the Chapel Sunday evening. Interment will be at Phillipsburg.

Mr. Martin was born January ninth, 1857 in Sullivan County a son of William and Rebecca Corwin Martin.

He had been a farmer in various parts of Orange County for a number of years and had made his home with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lybolt near Scotchtown for the past two months.

Mr. Martin is survived by two brothers, Fred of Perry, N.Y. and Alfred, of Newburgh, and three sons Cornelius, DeWitt and Fred.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at one p.m. at Smith's Funeral Home in Middletown. The Rev. Joseph A. Johnston will officiate. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery.
