Freda V. Simmons, 96, of Ravenswood Care Center, Ravenswood, died Sunday, Oct. 10, at Eldercare of Ripley.
She was born at Tariff, a daughter of the late Rufus and Rosa Isenhart Bailey.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was a faithful member of West Ripley Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband,Bert O. Simmons; two sons, Larry Bert and James Bailey; four brothers, Coy Bailey, Pierce Bailey, General Bailey and Robert Bailey; and seven sisters, Mittie Hanna, Lula Casto, Flora Edgell, Ola Keeton, Vossie Bailey, Marie Hall and Beatrice Bailey.
Service was Wednesday at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, with Rev. Dean Risser and Rev. Jack Miller officiating. Burial was in Tariff Cemetery.
