YARMOUTH - Vivia S. Mason, 88, of 31A Juniper East, died Sunday at her home after a long illness. She was born in Cincinnati, a daughter of Clarence and Rachel Hodsdon Sturtevant, and attended Hebron Academy and Gorham Normal School. Mrs. Mason was a teacher in Pownal, Falmouth, Bridgton and Ashaway, R.I. She was a licensed practical nurse in several Westerly, R.I., nursing homes. She retired in 1976 and moved to Pownal. She came here in 1980. She was a communicant of the Church of St. Mary teh Virgin, Falmouth, and a charter member of the Pownal Scenic and Historical Society. Her husband, Carl L. Mason, died in 1970.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lindquist Funeral Home, 37 Portland St. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Pownal.
