Oscar B Gillam, 80, 2510 Lincoln Ave., Point Pleasant, was dead on arrival last night at Pleasant Valley Hospital.
He was retired from Gay Coal and Coke of Mt Gay and was a member of the United Mine Workers in Charleston.
He was born Sept 5, 1901 in Layton, Ky. to the late John and Rhoda Cole Gillam.
Surviving are his wife, Maud Henderson Gillam, two daughters, Mrs Jacqueline Bowling, Point Pleasant and Mrs Sue Ellixson, Orlando, Fla.; four sons, Joe and Gradie Gillam, Detroit, Mich., Carlton Gillam, Dayton, Ohio and Fred Gillam, Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Warnie Gillam, Westwood, Ky.; one sister, Ann Maggard, Cynthia, Ky.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 pm at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with Rev William Bridges officiating. Burial will be held at the Kirkland Memorial Gardens.
