While attending Oswega college in New York, he worked summers and holidays for The House of the Good Shepard, a boarding school that cared for troubled children. After college in 1975, he moved to Texas and eventually became a television news and sports reporter in Tyler, Tx. He died from injuries he received during an accident.

Has artifacts on display at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas. Only a small percentage of the artifacts are out at the present time, but still large enough to occupy the entire display area next to the Apollo 7 capsule. Also has political items on display at the University of Texas at Tyler.
