Moses married twice: First he married Thankful Gaylord and had 10 children by her. After she died, he married Phebe Allen; no children from this union.

Moses served in the Revolutionary War as a member of Capt. Isaac Bostwick's Company, Charles Webb's 19th Continental Regiment, which crossed the Delaware at Trenton on the eve of 25 Dec 1776 with General Washington.
