Husband Jeremiah Mathew Selman (1804-1850?)

The Jermiah Selman Family moved to Grayson Co. in 1858.
Shortly before the civil broke out Pamelia was refered to as the Widow Selman.
We know she came from Grayson Co. Texas with John Henry and his brother and sister. Her husband Jermiah Matthew Selman had died.
March 8, 1865 the Selman famiy forted up at Ft. Davis.
Sam Newcomb's Diary says on Feb. 10, 1866 the Widow Selman was baptized by the Rev.Slaughter.
On 5-8-1867, the widow Selman died, an event that sadden the whole countryside. Sally Reynolds Matthews says in Interwoven that her mother, who was past fifty, rode 20 miles on horseback to be with the widow Selman when she died. She was buried in a small cemetery near the Clear Fork on what was then the Shaw Ranch. Widow Selman was living at Ft. Davis at the time of her death. She was 57 years old.

It seems as long as she was alive she kept everyone in line. After her death John Henry and Tom both got into all sort of trouble.
