Hans sailed with his wife Anna and daughter Margaretha (Born in Germany, Citizenship by Marriage), Catherine "Katie" Backens-Reese (Born in Iowa, Died Jan. 5, 1888 in Yutan, NE. at the age of 21), Heinrick (Born in Iowa married Bertha Stoldt)and Anna Backens-Fuchser (Born in Yutan, NE)
