Born in Kenilworth, Mrs. Materia was a lifelong resident. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion of Westfield and the Kenilworth Senior Citizens. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Machrone and a brother, Robert Machrone. Surviving are her husband, Santo J. Materia of 60 years; four daughters, Karen Hart and her husband, Thomas, Diane Brandel and her husband, Michael, Deborah Libassi and her husband, David, and Denise Materia; two sisters, Rose Bauer and Betty Machrone; a brother, Sam Machrone; six grandchildren, Brian and his wife, Noelle, Christopher, Kimberly, Paul, Matthew and Laura. She is also survived by five nieces and nephews, Karin(me), Beverly, Robert, Barbara,and Richard Machrone.
