Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Forsythe, 80, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Oakley-Metcalf Chapel with Rev. R. L. Strickland and Rev. Harold Pitts officiating. Interment will follow in the Knight Cemetery.
Mrs. Forsythe, of Route 1, Lufkin, died at her son's residence early Friday morning following a long illness. She was born October 7, 1877, in Burke, and had resided in Angelina County all her life. She was a member of the Congregational Methodist Church.
Mrs. Forsythe is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Hester Murrah of Burke, Mrs. Janie Purvis of Lufkin, Mrs. Theda Reina of Houston and Rev. Mrs. Lola Lane of Lufkin; four sons, Rev. Millard Forsythe and Rev. Willard Forsythe, both of Lufkin, Agee Forsythe of Houston and Eugene Forsythe of Houston; four brothers, Jim Landrum of Nacogdoches, Pat Landrum of Groveton, Ree Landrum of Diboll, and Dank Landrum of Diboll; one sister, Mrs. Albert May of Lufkin; 33 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mervin Hancock, Arthur Kirk, Medford Largent, Coy Read, Norman Lawrence and Delton Sturrock.
