June 23, 2010 on his 87th birthday. Predeceased by his brother, Hans and his second wife, Sandra. Survived by his wife, Katherine Rapin Failner; daughters, Brigitte Failner, Angelika Failner Wagner, Cornelia Failner and Michelle Failner; and their mother, Bertha Kellner-Failner; sister, Toni Denecke of Germany; 4 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Otto was a very active member of St. John's Home for over 25 years, where he volunteered, was past president of the Auxiliary and past board member. He was a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
The Rapin children and grandchildren will honor Otto during a Memorial Service at a family reunion this summer.
