GENEVIEVE I. PRESTON
Genevieve I. Preston of Cheshire died March 10 at the age of 83. She was born Sept. 10, 1907 in Coquille. On Dec. 22, 1926 in Myrtle Point, she was married to her husband, William. They owned and operated Preston's Market in Cheshire for many years. He preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1980.
She is survived by her daughter, Bettie Abingdon of New Orleans, La; her grandsons: Brian Abingdon of Cheshire and Paul Abingdon of New Orleans, La.; her sisters:Lena Riley of Coquille, and Inez Lorraine Whitney of Eugene; brothers: George Whitney of Salinas, Calif. and Robert Clark of San Francisco, Calif.; nieces: Phyllis Jean Nelson of North Bend and Pat Binns of Cheshire; nephew, Robert Thomas of Apache Junction, Ariz.
Services were held March 13 at West Lawn Memorial Funeral Home. Rev. Gilbert Knox officiated. Private concluding services were at Rest Lawn Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the chapel.
