Frederick was the son of Meinrad Schoenbachler and Magdaline Kaelin. On 25 Oct 1904 he married Katharine Taphorn and they had one son, also named Frederick. For many years Frederick worked in the local breweries in Louisville and he was employed as a stable man at Oertel's Brewery at the time of his death. He died of pulmonary tuberculosis at the age of 53.
