PEKIN, IL - David Ray Pollard, 40, of 1702 American Street, passed away at 11:25 a.m. Sunday, July 11, 2010 at his home.

Born March 23, 1970 in Pekin to Sherrill Ray and Sibyl Louise (Reed) Pollard, he married Esther Mae Schurman on March 31, 2001 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother and step-father, Sibyl and Edward Goldsby of Pekin; father and step-mother, Sherrill and Mary Pollard of Apple Valley, Calif.; one daughter, Asia Pollard of Pekin; one son, Dakota Pollard of Pekin; one brother, Daniel Pollard of Pekin; and four sisters, Sherri (Billy) Franks, Mary Woodward, and Amanda Pollard, all of Pekin; and Lisa (Mark) Clemmer of Kingman, Arizona.

David worked for CSD in Mapleton for 2 years, last working in June 2009. He also was a seasonal worker for 13 years at Yordy Turkey Farm in Morton.

He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church in rural Pekin.

David enjoyed playing his Play Station 2 and watching NASCAR.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at Faith Tabernacle Church in rural Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Pastor Chuck Grogan will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
