Joseph P. Womble Dies At Turtletown
Joseph P. Womble, prosperous Turtletown farmer and father of Mrs. Emory Arp of Copperhill, passed away at his home last Thursday. He was 80 years of age.
A resident of Turtletown practically all his life, Mr. Womble was a retired L & N employee. For the past several years he had devoted his interests in his farm.
He was a member of the Turtletown Baptist Church and of the Ranger Lodge, F. & A. M.
Besides Mrs. Arp, he is survived by his wife and three other daughters, Mrs. Bedie Ingle, Mrs. Meta Eaves and Mrs. Greta Cager(Koger); three sons Wesley, Chester and L. E. Womble, - Fifteen grandchildren, one brother and one sister also survive.
Funeral services were held at the Turtletown Baptist Church on Friday afternoon, Rev. S. M. Wolfe officiating. Pallbearers were L. L. Kimsey, C. L. Owenby, Paul Nicholson, Bill Wallace, J. T. Huffman and Emory Arp.
Interment in the church cemetery, was under direction of Brewer, Pack & Williamson.
