Jerry Womble, 40, Killed Early Sunday in Fall From Car

Jerry Womble, 40, of Turtletown, was instantly killed about 2:45 a.m., Sunday, when the automobile in which he was riding, with Charles and Ridge Roach, also of Turtletown, left the road near the L & N freight depot.
According to investigating officers, Womble fell from the car when the car's lights failed and the vehicle left the road. His head struck the concrete and slag, causing instant death.
Neither of the Roach men were injured and the car was not seriously damaged.
A passing motorist notified Chief of Police Ernest Hunt, who called Coroner Broughton Biggs. An inquest verdict of "death by accident" was returned.
A construction worker, Womble was the son of Mr, and Mrs. Joseph Womble of Turtletown. He was born Jan. 21, 1904, and was married to Miss Edna Runion on Sept. 25, 1927.
