George A. Schaub, 67, of Peoria, formerly of Kickapoo, died at 10:02 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2007, at his residence. Born on Jan. 14, 1940, in Kickapoo to Fred and Margaret Kinsella Schaub, he married Rosemary Ochs on July 17, 1965, in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Anne Marie (David) Kidd of Peoria and Becky (Steve) Hickey of Kokomo, Ind.; one son, Michael (Kirsten) Schaub of Morton; four sisters, Liz (Mose) Gilles of Brimfield, Louise (Carl) Hasselbacher of Peoria, Margaret (Carl) Mangold of Buda and Alice (Mike) Bergevin of Trivoli; and five brothers, Fred (Terry) Schaub of Germantown Hills, William (Jean) Schaub of San Antonio, Texas, Robert Schaub of Kickapoo, Leo (Nancy) Schaub of Kickapoo and Ed "Tony" Schaub of Brimfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Schaub.

He graduated from Spalding Institute in 1958 before entering the U.S. Air Force. He retired from the Air Force in May of 1979 after 20 years of service. He then worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 23 years before he retired on April 1, 2002.
