Grace was the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Wood) Ridge. She married James R. Quinby at Easton, Pennsylvania in January 1847. James and Grace had the following children: Ellen (wife of William M. Jay), Elwood (husband of Emma C. Hallowell), Joseph R. (husband of Mary Lees), George H. (husband of Josephine Ely), Francenia (wife of William Worstell and Smith Clark), Henry R. (husband of Violet Randall and Cynthia Ella Wood), and Mary Anna (wife of James R. Winder).
