Dorothy was born January 15, 1929 in Prairieton, IN, the daughter of Estelle G. and Lucille M. (Jones ) Shields. Dorothy married Charles E. Karnes on August 14, 1966 and he survives. Dorothy was an elementary school teacher in Altamont, IL, for 25 years.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Karnes of Effingham; daughter, Carolyn Marie Karnes of Effingham; brother, Donnie (wife, Sue) Shields of Terre Haute, IN; 4 sisters, Wilma Shields of Terre Haute, IN, Annabelle Dennis of Widener, AR, Betty Ridge and Phyllis Shields both of Terre Haute, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, and 1 sister.
