Emile Blanchard, 87, a native of Cut Off and resident of Galliano, died Oct. 24, 2003.

Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Tuesday at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Galliano, with burial at Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

He is survived by his son, Leroy A. Blanchard; brother, Lawrence Blanchard; four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Duct Blanchard; son, Alvin A. Blanchard; brother, Louis Blanchard; and sisters, Nada Durrieve, Odile Angelette, Yola Loupe and Octavia Constransitch.

He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church and Holy Name, served in World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps, was a third-degree member of the Society of the Knights of Columbus and was retired from L.L.& E. of Houma. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

Falgout Funeral Homes of Galliano is in charge of arrangements.
