Joseph Frank Mendez, age 72, late of Lansing, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 20, 2010 in Munster Community Hospital with his beloved wife Merry at his side.
Frank was born in East Chicago on October 15, 1937. He was the beloved husband of Merry (nee Shea) for 47 years; loving father of Josephine (David Woods) Mendez, Joseph and Frank Mendez;
dear brother of Ann Tweeter, Clara (Frank) Morfin, Esther (Rudy) Garcia and the late Rosemary (late Ralph) Robertson; dear nephew of Mario (Lupita) Castillo;
loving son of the late Josephine (nee Castillo) and the late Francisco Mendez; loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held
Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. from the Schroeder-Lauer Funeral Home,

Lansing, IL to
St. Ann Church,
Mass at 10:00 a.m.

Lansing, Illinois
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in
Calumet City, Illinois
Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Frank was known as the "Pizza Man" of Lansing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
