SWEETWATER - Robert H. "Bob" Baker, 72, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2000, at a Sweetwater hospital.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Highland Heights United Methodist Church with the Rev. Byron Putnam and the Rev. Allen Brooks officiating. Burial in Longworth Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home of Sweetwater. Military graveside rites will be performed by the Nolan County Honor Guard.

Mr. Baker was born in Tobar, Nev., and had lived in Sweetwater since 1947. He married Betty Jo Cardwell in 1948 and was an independent trucker for more than 30 years. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy and the Navy Seabees, a member of V.F.W. Post 2479 and Highland Heights United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of Sweetwater; two sons, Danny Baker, Donny Baker, both of Sweetwater; one daughter, Deby Brite of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Myrad Tubbs of Smiths, Ala.; one brother, Sidney Paul Baker of Tucson, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
