Mrs. Maude Bowers of Baton Rouge died November 7 at Baton Rouge General Hospital following a lengthy illness. A member of Calvary Methodist Church, she was 80.
She leaves one son, John M. Bowers of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Frank, of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Virginia Stigall of Anaheim, California, and Mrs. Mae Kelly of St. Louis; one brother Newman Pierce of Paris; and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Underwood of Odessa, Texas, and Mrs. Clare Kane of Long View, Texas. Her husband Oscar Bowers, preceded her in death.
Services were held November 10 at Doug Murphy Chapel with Rev.Paul Peck officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery with Doug Murphy in charge.
Pallbearers were John Allen, Daniel Williams, Morris Bowers, Robert N. Pierce, W.W. Kilgore, and Leroy Lawrence.
