Brother of Rolla Women dies at 76:
Monroe "Doc" Ramsey, brother of Miss Mary Ramsey and Mrs Lula Isenberg of Rolla died at the Popular Bluff Hospital, Nov 3, at the age of 76 years. He had lived most of his life in Pulaski County, having been born near Dixon, Feb 28, 1875, son of James P. and Malinda Ramsey. He moved to Neelyville, MO in 1941. On Dec 19, 1897, he married Mary Bacon and to his union thirteen children were born. Four preceded him in death, three in infancy, and, Malinda York, of Cesas (?) California in 1945. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Frank of Naylor, Charles, Claude and Woodrow of Neelyville, five daughers, Mrs. Alma Laughlin of Naylor, Mrs. Rose Morgan of Waynesville, Mrs. Lilah Bradford of Cabool, Mrs. Opal Frank of Potosi, and Mrs. Daisy Smith of Willow Springs. his two sisters of Dixon, 31 grandchildren and eigh great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Nov 5 at the Independence Baptist Church near Neelyville. The pastor, the Rev. W. Wilson was assisted by the Rev. F. Gibson of Bellgrade, MO, a close friend of the family. Pallbearers were eight grandsons and twelve granddaughters were flower girls. Burial was in Memorial Gardens at Popular Bluff under the direction of Gish Funeral Home of Naylor. (by Wanda Blackwell)
