Emma L Buckner was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. John Buckner. She joined the Methodist Episcopal South Church at age 15. She married Rev. Jeremiah M. Ellis about 1838 in Blount Co., AL. He was the son of Jesse Ellis, Jr., who founded the first ME Church in AL at Talladega, Wetumpka Dist. Emma & Jeremiah's children were; Elizabeth J, William, Hannah A, Jesse Franklin b. 1844, Rachel Evalin, Sarah Matilda, Nancy, John B, Mary Frances, Minalee, Eliza J, and Wilson Owen Ellis. Several of the children went into TX. Rev. Jeremiah's burial place is unknown at this time.
